Two New Laptops and Still Hardly On

by Tenryuu on November 5, 2008

The trip across the country has kept us busy and most times we didn’t have enough time to log on and do much. Strangely enough I am not feeling any withdrawals. Not to say I don’t love Warhammer as when I do get to play it does bring me enjoyment.

This is completely different than my World of Warcraft experience.  I felt I had to always log on and progress.  Failure to do so and I would fall behind.  At times logging in felt more like a chore or job than a good gaming experience.

With Warhammer I just log on when I have time and enjoy the moments I spend within.  Overall I think I am happier for it.

LAG!

by Tenryuu on October 1, 2008

We are out of the apartment and officially without steady internet access. Moving into Temporary Living Facility here at Offutt, I didn’t have much expectations.  The room was a bit musty and had ants, but at least we had a kitchen, a bed, and some CHAIRS!  To top it off, there was wireless internet available!

So I quickly hook up my laptop to get my fix and find that there is a big delay in everything I do.  For the next two weeks if you see Tenryuu stutter, move, stop, and generally look like he doesn’t know what he is doing, its because he is fighting the slow internet connection lag monster!

Can I hit the fast forward button?

My Achin Back

by Tenryuu on September 28, 2008

Its strange when I actually look forward in going to work.  Is it because of I love my job?  Hell no!  My job has a well valued commodity called the chair.  Currently our apartment is void of all furniture as the movers packed up our hom last wednesday.  What is left if a few boxes, a small tv, our laptops, and a air mattress.

Needless to say, our gaming addiction had us setting up our laptops and continue to play during the evenings.  We get about an hour or two in before our backs can’t handle it no more and we end up logging.  Though not nearly enough to satisfy my need to level, it does at least appease our addiction.

Our friend Hyou is getting excited about Stargate Worlds.  Initially I didn’t like the show, it wasn’t until I separated it from the movie as an alternate dimension and watched the third season that it started to grow on me.  I am hopeful they succeed as MMOs could use a good scifi game.

Now one scifi MMO that would completely catch my imagination is Warhammer 40k.  Apparently THQ has the contract to develop it.  Wary of getting my hopes up too much, I do look forward to the future where Eldar aspect warriors and Space Marines battle the Tyranid Genestealers.
